"Tits in the Wringer" Video


In this video "Tits in the Wringer", the viewer witnesses the wisdom, perspectives, misconceptions, hopes, and fears that six Aboriginal women share about breast health and breast cancer. The movie tales place in a familiar setting: the kitchen. As the women gather around the kitchen table, controversial and sensitive topics such as breast self-exams, mammograms, stages of breast cancer, and treatment options are discussed. This culturally-relevant movie usues local slang and humour to clarify misconceptions about breast cancer, decrease fear, and increase the level of breast health education within the Aboriginal community.

"Tits in the Wringer" is a video specifically made by, and for, Aboriignal women. With a cast comprised entirely of local Aboriginal community members, this video uses a true grassroots approach to providing information about breast health and related topics such as diet, exercise, and general lifestyle issues so that Aboriginal women can take the necessary steps to ensure their health and well-being.
