Healing Circles
Healing circle(s) is a process of
sharing our emotional, physical, mental and spiritual hurts and well being with
like-minded people as a group. The
circles are usually open to anyone that is on their healing journey unless it
is specified to reach out to a specific group ie. Single Parents Circle.
The circle often
has a facilitator/staff person of an agency and an elder present to guide the
group. Each individual after some
initial instructions will share his/her story to the circle with the people
present.
There is no
specific time frame except to announce the start time and possible closure of
the meeting.
The circles are
usually open to anyone that is seeking to heal but willing to share his/her
story. Some circles will be by word of
mouth for a specific group or will be advertised as such.
All the information shared stays in the circle for the circle. The Teachings encouraged is to build trust
and brotherhood.
