Purpose of the Health
Centre
De dwa da dehs nye>s Aboriginal
Health Centre was created to assist Aboriginal people to access Culturally
Appropriate health programs and services.
The Health Centre focuses on preventive and primary wholistic health
care, which applies to all parts of the person – spiritual, mental, emotional
and physical. Clients choose to see a
doctor and/or traditional healer. The
Health Centre will serve all Aboriginal people and families regardless of
residency or status and will offer assistance to outside service organizations
to provide care in a culturally sensitive way.
Any suggestions for programs or
services, call Laura at the Health Centre (905) 544-4320 or in Brantford (519)
752-4340.
Who’s voice
I hear in the winds and who’s breath gives life to all the world, hear me.
I am before
you, one of your many children,
I am small
and weak,
I need your
wisdom,
Let me walk
in beauty and make my eyes behold the
red and purple sunset.
Make my
hands respect things you have made, my ears sharp to hear your voice,
Make me
wise so I may know the things you have taught my people, the things you have
hidden in every leaf and rock,
I seek
Strength, Oh Great Spirit,
Not to be
superior to my brothers,
But to
fight my greatest enemy – myself.
Make me
ever ready to come to you with clean hands and straight eyes, so when life is
as a fading sunset,
My spirit
may come to your without shame.
